I can no longer hold or carry my child…. my baby boy! *tear* *sigh*
7 years old, just over 60 lbs and 48″ tall, was the straw that broke the camel’s back… this camel’s back… literally!
I used to think of how great it would be for him to walk on his own and wonder what his personality would be like. Now I try and recall how precious it was to hold a 6 lb baby in my arms. All the while explaining to the very same 7 year old that it is just fine to stop talking once in a while to give yourself a moment to breathe.
The growth of a child, especially that of your own, really is a reminder of how quickly time is ticking! Suddenly you hear the voice of Roger Waters…. ” And then one day you find, 10 years have gone behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun…. home, home again…. ” ! Your eyes swell with tears because you know deep down that it is just a matter of time……
But of course this daydream is dissipated by that sweet sweet and beautiful 7 year old, holding your face, asking you what’s wrong. You wipe your tears with a smile and response by saying ” I just love you times infinity”! You receive his kiss and without a moment to lose, he is blabbing your ear off again!
